Winged Repose
For over twenty years I have enjoyed the soft coos of pigeons in my neighborhood. These birds, which have adapted remarkably well to the urban environment, are celebrated here. As I painted each one I noted with interest the many variations in color and pattern as well as the sparkle of iridescent purple (sometimes green too!) on their necks.
